|
Graduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees were awarded to 928 students on the first day of the 8th Convocation of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University held at Gurugram today. The Convocation will continue till 6th May. Degrees were awarded to the Graduate, Post Graduate, and Ph.D. Scholars from different faculties of the SGT University today. Along with this, meritorious students were awarded medals in today’s convocation.

The Convocation was held at 3 different places A-Block Shooting floor, C- Block Auditorium, And Hospital Auditorium. The Convocation Ceremony in A-Block began with the arrival of the dignitaries. Dr. S.K Sarin Vice-Chancellor, Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Dr. Sanjay Tyagi Director, Software Technology Parks of India Chennai, Honourable Chancellor Padma Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, Managing Trustee, Dashmesh Education Trust Shri Manmohan Singh Chawla, Vice-Chancellor Professor(Dr.) Vinod Kumar, Registrar Dr. Joginder Yadav, members of the Academic Council, Deans of all the Faculties were present.

Students of Ph.D., MD, MS, MSc, MBBS, BDS and MDS students received their degrees. A Total of 225 Students were honored with their degrees in A Block. The chief guest in this program Dr. S.K. Sareen released the Souvenir of the 8th Convocation of SGT University in the presence of the dignitaries. Addressing the students in this program, the Chief Guest Dr. Sareen said that this day of the convocation is a proud day not only for the students but also for their parents and also said that a medical professional should keep learning throughout life. so that they can face the challenges ahead with strength. He further said to be unique and successful you should know what to do many of us do not know what to do in life.

“Define your excellence, don’t compete for your goals with others. The third is don’t copy. Decide your own goal there will be 2 roads one less taken and the other more taken it is up to you which road you want to take. Both will take you to your desired destination,” he added

At C- Block Auditorium Chief guest invited for the event was Professor K.K Aggrawal Chairman, National Board of Accreditation, and Former Vice-Chancellor of GGS Indraprastha University Delhi along with Guest of Honour Shri Narendra Ahooja Vivek, Former State Drug Controller Haryana at Food and Drug Administration. Pro VC Prof Vikas Dhawan read the VC’s report. Students of Pharmacy Practice, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Diploma in Pharmacy MPT, and BPT were awarded degrees.

A total of 395 students were honored with their degrees. At the Hospital Auditorium Chief guest invited for the event was professor Prof Bachan Lal, Vice-Chancellor of Cluster University Jammu and Kashmir along with Guest of Honour Shri Harsh Priya Arya Vice- President -HR Jai Bharti Maruti Pvt. Ltd.

Students of M.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic Nursing, and GNM were present. A total of 308 students were honored with their Degrees in the Hospital Auditorium.
